The new Expo Line light rail extension from Culver City to Santa Monica doesn't open until May, but rental prices are already way up along the new track. An analysis by RadPad shows that, on average, rents have risen nearly 15 percent in the neighborhoods around the forthcoming stations, with an increase of more than 45 percent at the Westwood Rancho Station.

Apparently, City Hall staff is worried that many will not be aware of Metro’s Expo light rail service when it begins operation to Santa Monica, May 20. That’s as if you won’t be aware of a 270 foot long, 100 ton train when it passes down Colorado Avenue 24 times an hour during peak periods creating traffic gridlock.
